(New York, NY - September 24, 2024)-- On Thursday, September 19, 2024, GU, a sister brand of UNIQLO, opened its first-ever permanent US Flagship store in New York City. Located in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood, GU NY SoHo is the first-ever flagship location outside of Asia.
The SoHo flagship store spans across two floors and over 10,000 square feet, featuring the latest style trends and collaboration items. Several exclusive collaborations debuted at the new flagship store including UnderCover, One Piece, and Ghost in the Shell. In collaboration with GU, Japanese brand UnderCover launched the Kosmik/noise collection. The exclusive collection features 22 gender-neutral styles including convertible pieces, reversible pieces, and track jackets.
During the four-day grand opening celebration, GU customers enjoyed additional giveaways, exclusive Japanese treats, deals and items. From Thursday, September 19th to Sunday, September 22nd, the first 300 customers received a limited edition GU tote bag (designed by Shantell Martin), with a purchase of $100 or more. Some lucky customers found surprises inside their bags worth up to $250 such as GU gift cards and special experiences celebrating Tokyo in NYC.
The "GU NEW U" concept is being showcased at the SoHo flagship store. This concept allows customers to create their own style through a variety of the latest and trending accessories and apparel.
GU has also launched its new e-commerce platform and app, which allows customers in the US to shop the brand's popular collections and exclusive collaboration items. During the first week of the online store's opening, GU is offering special pricing on select items. The GU app is now available to download on Apple and Android devices.
