(New York, NY - October 4, 2024)-- Kodansha, Japan's largest manga publisher behind popular series including Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Blue Lock, Attack on Titan, and Akira, is inviting manga enthusiasts to experience the Kodansha House: Where Manga Meets in New York City.
Kodansha House is a free immersive pop-up event where the world of manga comes to life. This exclusive pop-up event offers a place for manga fans to connect, create, and celebrate their favorite manga series. From manga book club and interactive exhibits to date nights and manga marketplace, Kodansha House is a hub where manga meets.
Plus, Kinokuniya will set up a pop-up retail shop where guests can purchase manga volumes and exclusive Kodansha House merchandise. The shop will be open every Friday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For the month of October, fans can enjoy a variety of programmings such as manga movie screenings, date nights, and meet & greet with manga creators. A diverse line-up of activities include Toast of Tardiness Challenge, trivia night, speed friending, and manga marketplace.
Featured Activations:
Akira Slide Photobooth: Suit up in Akira's iconic bike gear including jacket and goggles, hop on the Akira bike, and capture the most iconic anime moment in a four-shot sequence.
Titan's Fury- Attack on Titan Photobooth: Step into a real-life of the Attack on Titan village, and become a Titan. Act out scenes as fans reach over walls, and grab tiny figures made from candy and chocolate. This fun activation will be captured on video, which allows fans to be the star of their Attack on Titan adventure.
[イニシャル]頭文字 D Arcade Stage 8インフィニティ (Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity): Guests can drive behind the wheel, and race against each other in this iconic Japanese race car game. The game is inspired by the Initial D manga series.
Library: Guests can grab a book, and read their favorite manga such as Kiss Him, Not Me, Sailor Moon, Akira, and Fire Force.
Café: Guests can purchase a variety of drinks, provided by Grace Street Cafe. With drink purchase, gusts can receive an exclusive Vinland Saga cup sleeve. The Café will be open on Wednesdays through Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
