(New York, NY, October 22, 2024)-- For one night only, America's oldest steakhouse, The Old Homestead celebrated their 156th anniversary with 30-cent dinner course and 10-cent USDA-Prime steaks at the original Meatpacking District location in New York City.
On Monday, October 21st from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. , New Yorkers had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy a classic steakhouse experience with prices from 1868. Old Homestead rolled back the price to 30-cents, which was the original price in 1868 . The once-in-a-lifetime promotional event was developed as the Sherry brothers thanked New York City for the support over the years.
This 30-cent three course meal was served to customers at the original Meatpacking District location. Menu items featured include:
- Old Homestead classic Caesar salad (5 cents)
- A choice of Sherry Brothers 16oz USDA Prime New York Sirloin, The Aristocrats of Tenderness Filet Mignon, or 22 oz in-bone Gotham Rib Steak (10 cents).
- Grandma's Creamed Spinach or Truffle Mac & Cheese (8 cents)
. World-Famous Old Homestead Cheesecake (7 cents)
These prices reflected what the restaurant originally charged during its debut in 1868. Beverages were not included in this promotion, but customers had the option to order soft drinks and alcoholic beverages for customers age 21 and over.
Reservations were required, and all seats were sold out on OpenTable within one hour upon the release date. Limited walk-ins were available on a first come, first served basis for those who were unable to make reservations. Over 200 people attended the 156th anniversary promotional event including walk-ins and customers with reservations.
It was a price worth seeing in the year 2024.
