(Bronx, NY - September 10, 2024)-- A light trail inspired by Disney and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas will be making its first-ever debut on Friday, September 27, 2024 at The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG).
The first-ever spectacle will illuminate the film's iconic characters, scenes, songs, and art against the backdrop of botanical trees and plants. This outdoor adventure features over 8,300 square feet of dazzling light installation with cutting-edge technology including interactive video projection, intelligent LED lighting, and 3D printed sculptures of iconic characters such as Jack Skellington, Oogie Boogie, Sally, and Zero. Visitors of all ages are invited to take a stroll through the garden as they immerse in Tim Burton's imagination of the film's visionary.
Jeffrey Seller, founder of Adventurelive and Iñaki Fernandez from LETSGO Madrid, completed the project in two years. Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail was created by Adventurelive, the production team behind Broadway's Hamilton, and LETSGO, Madrid-based creative company behind Tim Burton's Labyrinth and Light in Nature, and by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.
During an interview, Maggie from Adventurelive explained that LETSGO and Adventurelive collaboratively pitched an idea to create a light show based on The Nightmare Before Christmas. Both creative teams reached out to Disney with their collaborative idea, as Disney owns the property of 1993 classic film. "...and it all just sort of happened quickly," she stated.
"I hope we can deliver a show that is delightful, fun, and gives you great images and stimulations for your eyes and your ears...," Jeffrey Seller, founder of Adventurelive, stated during a press interview.
Fans from across the country and around the world are welcome to visit the 9-week attraction, and take an immersive walk through the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's an event for visitors of all ages to enjoy this holiday season. "We want people to go in, and just be immersed in the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas!", Maggie exclaimed.
This experience takes approximately 45 minutes, but visitors are encouraged to fully immerse among the surroundings of fan-favorite characters, music, and scenes from the classic Tim Burton film. The illuminated light path is one-way, and stretches 1/2 mile long, looping from one end to the other. A massive pumpkin illumination marks the beginning of the outdoor adventure, filled with dazzling light illumination and video projections of the film's art and iconic scenes against the trees and grounds of the botanical garden.
Operating hours for Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail is every Thursday through Sunday from dusk to 10 p.m., beginning September 27, 2024 through November 30, 2024.
